Editorial Board Meeting of CSEE JPES Held in Atlanta, USA

On August 7, 2019, the Editorial Board Meeting of CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems (CSEE JPES) was held in in Atlanta, USA, during the 2019 IEEE PES Annual Meeting. Zheng Baosen, Honorary President of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE), and Academician Zhou Xiaoxin, Editor-in-chief of CSEE JPES addressed the conference. Prof. Yao Liangzhong and Prof. Sun Hongbin, as well as more than 70 Editorial Board members and experts from China, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and other countries and regions attended the conference. The conference was presided over by Prof. Sun Hongbin.

Zheng Baosen extended a warm welcome to the experts and scholars attending the conference, and expressed sincere gratitude to the devoted JPES editors. He pointed out that with the efforts of the Editorial Board and other stakeholders, CSEE JPES achieved excellent results. The journal was indexed by SCIE database in 2018, and received the first impact factor of 2.68 in June 2019, ranked in the Q2 section in ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC discipline. The re-election meeting of the editorial board will be held by the end of this year. The structure of the Editorial Board will be adjusted and optimized to further promote the journal’s development. CSEE will pay more attention to JPES, and create better conditions for developing a world-class publication.

Zhou Xiaoxin introduced the latest development of the journal. “In the future, we will speed up the review of manuscripts and strengthen links with authors”, he said. The journal is at a critical stage of development. The editorial board will play an active role in accelerating manuscript processing, inviting international manuscripts and strengthening overseas publicity. Zhou Xiaoxin expected that with the support of the Editorial Board, the sponsor, CSEE, and the cooperative publisher, China Electric Power Research Institute, CSEE JPES will rapidly grow into a high-quality, influential and leading academic journal in the field of power and energy.

In order to recognize the experts who have made outstanding contributions to the journal’s development, the CSEE JPES 2018 Annual Award Ceremony was held during the conference, including  CSEE JPES Contribution Award, CSEE JPES Excellent Young Subject Editor Award, CSEE JPES Excellent Paper Award, CSEE JPES Excellent Peer Reviewer Award, and CSEE JPES Promotion Award.

After the Award Ceremony, Prof. Yao Liangzhong, Associate Editor-in-chief, introduced and analyzed the current progress of CSEE JPES, focusing on periodical quality, management, publicity and promotion. Finally, the next work plan of the journal was proposed based on how to improve the quality of manuscript sources and optimize services for authors.

The discussion session was moderated by Li Ruomei, the Advisory Board member, around four topics including the development direction and positioning of the journal, division of editorial responsibilities, access to high-quality manuscript sources, and cutting-edge issues. The experts put forward valuable suggestions on improving the quality of the journal and realizing the development goals.

This event further clarified the future development direction of CSEE JPES, laid a solid foundation for the further development of the journal, and gave a strong support for the journal to expand its influences at home and abroad.
